NCADD Announces Free National Training: “What AI Means for Your Organization Right Now”

Washington, DC (May 1, 2026) —The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) is pleased to announce a free, 90-minute interactive training, “What AI Means for Your Organization Right Now,” designed to help affiliates, partner organizations, professionals, and other interested individuals better understand the practical role of artificial intelligence in today’s work.

As affiliates across the country continue to express interest in learning more about artificial intelligence and its implications for the future of the field, NCADD is responding with an educational opportunity focused on practical application, ethical use, and organizational readiness.

The training will be presented by Andrew Mitchell, CEO and Founder of Oplos Consulting, who helps organizations amplify their impact through artificial intelligence. In this session, Mitchell will explore how organizations can effectively and safely use AI as a force multiplier while remaining grounded in mission, values, and responsible practice.

Participants will gain insight into several timely questions, including:

  • What is the current landscape of AI tools?
  • Where and how can AI impact your work?
  • What are the ethical considerations of using AI in your work?
  • What kind of guardrails should you have in place for your organization and the individuals you serve?
  • What support resources are available to organizations in their AI journey?

“This training reflects NCADD’s commitment to listening and responding to the needs of our affiliates and partners,” said Denise L. Kolivoski, MBA, Executive Director of NCADD. “Organizations across the country are asking thoughtful questions about artificial intelligence, and this workshop offers a practical starting point for understanding how these tools may support our work while keeping ethics, safety, and mission at the center.”

Mitchell brings a strong mix of nonprofit, consulting, and technology experience to the session. He has been a featured speaker at nationally recognized events including Sloss Tech and Southern Spark, and he leads Birmingham AI’s Nonprofit breakout group. Prior to founding Oplos Consulting, he worked with Deloitte Consulting, supporting Fortune 500 companies and major healthcare providers as they implemented digital tools. He began his career in the education nonprofit sector with Teach For America, A+ Education Partnership, and the Birmingham Education Foundation, before earning his MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.

NCADD encourages affiliates, partner organizations, and staff across organizations to attend this timely and relevant workshop.
